City of Bellevue, Youth Link and the Worth A Shot campaign led by BSD Student Mehr Grewal, will be hosting an upcoming COVID-19 vaccine info session.

The session will include information about the upcoming COVID-19 vaccine for 5-11 years olds. Dr. Seema Abbassi and Dr. Neeta Jain, both pediatricians with infectious disease backgrounds, will be on-hand to help answer questions.

Trunk or Treat

Join us Friday, October 29th,  6-7:30pm for our 1st annual Trunk or Treat! Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Siblings and other family members are welcome. Non-food/Non-allergen treats will be available at some trunks.

Virtual Pumpkin Carving Contest

This year in lieu of a pumpkin carving night we are having a virtual pumpkin carving contest. Contest categories are: Scariest, Silliest, Best School Spirit & Best Non-Carved (Painted, etc.) Entries must be submitted no later than Saturday, October 31st by emailing a photo or video to president@nhe-pta.org. Winner in each category will receive a medal. Grand prize “Best in Show” winner will get to swap places with Ms. Kopf-Stover and be the school principal for part of a school day!

We are pleased to announce that Newport Heights PTA has achieved the Washington State PTA Platinum Membership Award for the 2020-2021 school year. Achievement of the Platinum Membership Award indicates at that we have already increased our annual membership by 20%. (and it’s only October…we’re just getting started!)

Seeking Volunteer for Reflections Art Program

We are looking for a Super Star volunteer to manage our school’s participation in the PTA Reflections Art program. Our previous Reflections guru has aged out of Newport Heights, but she is more than happy to mentor a new volunteer. You will have all the help you need. Contact our PTA President, Ellen Martin, to volunteer or learn more.

Reflections is a National PTA arts competition program. Areas of submission include visual, music, photography, and literature. The theme this year is “I will change the world by…” The Reflections Arts Competition offers a great opportunity for kids to create and participate in different ways while competing with different schools in our area, state level or even all the way to the national level.

 

BSF Ambassador

Are you interested in playing a role to support the larger Bellevue school community and ensuring that students throughout the District have the tools and resources they need to be successful?

Consider becoming our school's Bellevue Schools Foundation (BSF) Ambassador. Serve as an important link between the Foundation and Newport Heights. Communicate news and events to parents, assist with events like Spring for Schools. Represent the Foundation in the community at large. Play a critical role in ensuring that the Foundation is able to maximize its reach to all 29 schools and execute its mission to promote and fund the best possible learning opportunities for ALL Students in Bellevue’s public schools.
